Plan a Visit
Meet our Pastor
Whether you're new to faith, returning to church, or looking for a place to belong, I want to personally invite you to join us this Sunday. At Bethel Church, we exist to live, grow, love, and serve for the sole purpose of making Jesus known. We believe God is doing something incredible in our communities, Rapid City and Edgemont, and we would love for you to be part of it.
Worship is our passion. Serving is our calling. Connection is our focus. From the moment you arrive, our hope is that you’ll experience the presence of God and the warmth of a church family that’s excited to walk alongside you.
We can’t wait to meet you!
Pastor Monty
Our Story
Over 75 Years of Faith and Community
On April 24, 1949, twenty-one believers gathered in the Odd Fellows' Hall for the first service of Bethel Temple Assembly of God. What began as a small group with a big vision has grown into a thriving church that has touched countless lives.
From the beginning, Bethel has been unique—completely self-supporting and built through the faith and sacrifice of our congregation. When we needed our first building, God provided. When we outgrew that space, He provided again. Each step of our journey has been marked by His faithfulness.
Our famous "Prayer Changes Things" sign became a Rapid City landmark, and people throughout the community knew us as a church where prayer really worked. We've always been a close-knit family with a heart for service—raising up young people for ministry, caring for military families from Ellsworth Air Force Base, and sending missionaries around the world.
Through three different locations and decades of faithful ministry, one thing remains constant: God's provision and our commitment to being a light in our community.
Our story continues today as we serve families, build faith, and trust God for the future He has planned.
